Christmas came early this year in New Jersey! Monstrous Monday was claimed as the biggest surfable day in NJ that anyone can remember, with local pro Rob Kelly saying it was, “The biggest, heaviest waves I’ve ever seen in New Jersey.”

I happened to be out of town on Monstrous Monday, but based on the photos from that day I’m not sure I would have surfed. That said, the day after looked epic too and much more friendly with waves of 8-10ft instead of the 15-20ft from the day before.

On the morning of Tuesday the 19th, conditions lined up perfectly for one of my local favorite spots to turn on. I surfed for 4 hours with just friends in the water. It was an epic session to say the least! Hopefully this run of swell continues in the new year. Thanks to Steve Miller for braving the cold to get the shot!
